It’s Too Hot to Run!

Record breaking temps here (Arizona) 117º has brought my running to a halt. And I was reaping benefits too 😦
I am however, trying to make up for it in my pool. Truth is…it’s not the same. I’ll sure be glad for cooler temps (our winter) to get here. Until then…I’ll live (with envy) vicariously thru this bloggers escapades 😉
At least it has me still feeling the positive effects of running…in my mind 😀

5 Healthy Breakfast Smoothies — 1 For Each Day Of The Week

Note: Keeping the few staple ingredients is easy. Use frozen fruit…works best for smoothies bcuz you don’t have to water down smoothie with ice cubes. Also, my friend Evelyn taught me about freezing bananas. Cut them whatever way you want, spread out on sheet pan or tray, freeze, then store in freezer bag, that way they don’t freeze stuck together ~

½ cup Greek yogurt
½ cup frozen pineapple, diced
½ cup frozen mango
1 banana, chopped
1 tsp grated ginger

Tuesday — Orange Smoothie
¼ cup orange juice
½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1 small orange, peeled and frozen
½ peach, peeled and diced
1 carrot, grated

Wednesday — Red Smoothie

½ cup Greek yogurt
½ cup frozen raspberries
½ cup frozen strawberries
½ cup frozen watermelon

Thursday — Purple Smoothie

½ vanilla Greek yogurt
½ cup frozen blackberries
½ cup frozen blueberries
¼ cup cherries, pitted

Friday — Green Smoothie
½ cup orange juice
½ vanilla Greek yogurt
